SPILLERS® have introduced an equine nutrition qualification exclusively for British Grooms Association (BGA) members. The new SPILLERS® BGA certificate of competence in equine nutrition gives BGA members the chance to learn from the experts to improve their knowledge and understanding the key aspects of feeding. The qualification is expressly designed to provide grooms with added confidence when it comes to nutrition management.

The home-study syllabus, which can be downloaded from the BGA website free of charge, is split into three sections. It covers the digestive system, dietary components, basic feeding and common health problems and includes open learning sections to enable readers to test their knowledge at every stage of their study.

The end of each section contains a series of revision questions to help prepare for the Certificate exam. The manual has the added benefit of being a handy reference tool for the future, if knowledge has become a little rusty or if some reassurance is needed!

Lucy Katan, executive director of the BGA said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our members to learn more about equine nutrition direct from the experts and benefit from a certificate of competence free of charge.”
