Floral Art in the Garden is an exhibition of floristry sculptures and arrangements designed by floristry groups, artists, sculptors, students and school groups, to name but a few! The interpretation of the theme ‘Inspired by Nature’ is entirely open to those participating. Come and enjoy a walk around the locally famous gardens and you will be delighted by the beautiful floral art which has been created especially for the occasion.
The idea was devised and organised by Hadlow College’s multi-award-winning floristry department and entry is free – although donations to the High Five Club are invited. This charity aims to make differences to the lives of people in the developing world.
The 10 acre Broadview Gardens have been created by students and are open to the public, free of charge, 360 days of the year. They include the Suttons Garden, on the edge of Broadview, which was designed and constructed in 2008 for the Devon based seed and plant specialist. The college undertakes various trials on behalf of Suttons and this means that something new is always happening.
The college’s Broadview Tearoom was winner of the 2008 South East Region Rural Enterprise Award and it is open every day from 10am. Wherever possible it uses locally grown, seasonally available ingredients including produce grown on the college campus.
Floral Art in the Garden is on show from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 June between 9.30am and 5.30pm.
