The Pony Club NFU Mutual National Quiz Championship Winners 2010
East Essex Hunt Branch of The Pony Club took the first place honours for Pony Club Branch teams, on a final score of 217 points, and Mill House Riding School, based in Stockton on Tees, took first place for the Centre Teams on a score of 186 points.
The Quiz final consisted of eight rounds on the following topics: • Round 1 - The Pony Club • Round 2 - Farm Animals & Working Dogs • Round 3 - On the Highway / Tack • Round 4 - Horse & Pony Care • Round 5 - Practical Round (Individual) • Round 6 - Castles, Royalty & Horses (Pairs) • Round 7 - Picture Round • Round 8 - Crazy Horse Parts Round 8 of the Quiz, ‘crazy horse parts’, was a new addition for 2010, and involved clues being given relating to points of the horse’s body, for example, ‘part of an election’ would be the ‘Poll’! “The standard of knowledge from all Quiz competitors was extremely high”, commented Hannah Clack, Secretary for The Pony Club NFU Mutual Quiz, “and it was great to see Mill House finally receive the 1st place honours for the Centres, after being 2nd up in 2008 and 3rd in 2009.” “Special thanks must go to NFU Mutual for sponsoring the National Quiz, and providing fantastic prizes for our Branch and Centre Members”.
