Hartpury College is delighted to announce the creation of a new bursary to provide financial support for disabled equestrian students available from the academic year 2010/2011.

The ‘Margaret Giffen Bursary’ is being provided by the Margaret Giffen Charitable Trust and will be awarded on an annual basis to assist disabled equestrian students undertaking an equine focussed programme at Hartpury College.  The amount will be variable depending on the needs of individual students and will be primarily to assist with the additional costs of undertaking an equine programme.

Graham Ledden, Vice Principal Business and Finance comments: “The introduction of this new bursary would not be possible without the generous support of the Margaret Giffen Charitable Trust.  These funds will make a real difference – both financial and otherwise to successful applicants and will help them to take advantage of the full student experience while studying at Hartpury.”

To be eligible for the ‘Margaret Giffen Bursary’ applicants must have applied to study an equine focussed programme at Hartpury College by 30th June 2010 and must also be able to provide evidence of their disability.

More information on the ‘Margaret Giffen Bursary’ and existing bursaries and scholarships can be found on the website at www.hartpury.ac.uk.
