Tim Stockdale, who represented Great Britain at the Bejing Olympics, will be demonstrating the skills that have made him one of the UK’s best show jumping talents, and offering advice and tips to riders and fans.
Bishop Burton College’s equine director Kim Knightley is delighted that Tim has agreed to deliver one of his lectures at the Arena.
She said: “We are all excited at the prospect of hosting an event with Tim Stockdale. Not only is he great rider and competitor, he’s also a great character that, through TV shows such as Faking It and Only Fools on Horses, has attracted the attention of people who may not be riders themselves."
Tim first represented Great Britain in 1988 and has since represented his country on 39 occasions on Nations Cup teams and also on the World Equestrian Games team in 2002. He has won numerous international competitions and 2008 was the first time Tim was selected to compete at an Olympic Games, with his top horse, Fresh Direct Corlato. They gave an outstanding performance jumping several clears and finished 16th overall.
During the 2008 season Tim also took first place at The Nantes Grand Prix with Fresh Direct Corlato and qualified for the World Cup Final 2008.
