The UK equestrian industry’s phenomenal response to the launch of The Holistic Horse Show, to be held at Unex Towerlands from 24- 26 October 2008, has exceeded all expectations. Representatives from a diversity of equestrian sectors have demonstrated their enthusiasm for an holistic approach to horse care. Not only have many major service providers and retailers signed up to exhibit at the show since the concept was launched last November but also top international riders and equine veterinary specialists have pledged their wholehearted support.

The show’s impressive and diverse line-up of displays and demonstrations has now been augmented by the addition of International Dressage rider Lucinda McAlpine, who keeps all her competition horses the natural way. A firm believer that naturalisation reduces the stress of training to a high level, Lucinda keeps all her horses barefoot and out all year round. With five horses at the show, she will be demonstrating how to harness natural behaviour using an intuitive riding technique. She will provide a breath-taking dressage to music display and will also give a loose jumping demonstration to highlight the importance of "play" in teaching horses to jump.

The full programme of performances also include the amazing equine biomechanist Gillian Higgins from Horses Inside Out, with her obliging grey horse Freddie, the leading western rider David Deptford and his beautiful Sovereign quarter horses and Richard Curtis, one of the UK’s leading heelwork to music and canine freestyle handlers, with his team of agile dogs.

The Holistic Horse Show runs on 24, 25 and 26 October and will include unique and informative demonstrations in the arena, an intimate therapy centre and a fabulous shopping mall.
