Current job title including company: Sport and Technical Officer, British Dressage (BD)
Description of job: I am involved in the nuts and bolts of developing the sport. As a member of the rules and fixtures committee, I am responsible for British Dressage Rules 2007. I organise the development of new tests, the annual BD national convention and maintain the trainers’ database, which lists all BD trainers to help riders find a good, local teacher. I also co-ordinate national dope testing.
Good elements of job: I really enjoy the fact that my job is so diverse! I am always doing something different and I am given plenty of opportunities to get involved with all aspects of the sport. I particularly like organising the National Convention, National Trainers Forum and Sport Science Seminar each of which are annual events.
Bad elements of job: None!
Future Plans: British Dressage is growing rapidly and I hope to continue to be involved with its development. In the future I would like to become more involved with event management.
