Tom Baker

College/Training Establishment Attended: Oatridge College Course Studied: Dip Farriery

Year of Graduation/Completion: Graduated and admitted to the Register of Farriers in 2001

Current job title including company: Farrier (self-employed)

Description of job: Trimming and shoeing a range of horses and ponies.

Good elements of job: I get paid to work with horses! For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a farrier. Not many people get paid for doing something they love, but I really enjoy farriery, and being around horses all day.

Bad elements of job: Working outside in the cold and wet, and horses with muddy legs. I'm saying this in the hope that more of my customers will get sheds and hard standing, and wash their horses legs before I arrive!

Future Plans: Not really sure can you come back to me on that one!
