This is an excellent book for anyone wanting to get started in TREC. As someone with no experience of this sport I was fascinated to find out more. It gives clear advice about the skills required to complete the competitions and also how these skills build on what the majority of riders do at home. The terminology is well explained as well as the format and equipment required for each phase. I finished the book feeling inspired to have a go, in awe of the partnership that competitors have built up with their horses to complete the tasks, and excited about this newest of horse sports as it truly is accessible for everyone - whatever their horse, facilities and budget.
